Keith & Patty Norris served as Wesleyan missionaries in Indonesia and Australia from 1991 to 2004. They now live in Virginia while Keith serves as Director of Rural Development at World Hope International, managing projects in Indonesia, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Zambia and Malawi. These projects help some of the poorest people in the world. World Hope International now operates 5 water well drilling rigs giving year-round safe drinking water to over 80,000 new people per year!
Through email and field visits Keith works with in-country staff to design, implement and evaluate projects. Many projects initiate the formation of a Village Development Committee, in which village leaders are trained to manage the ongoing programs such as a school or a seed loan program.
Their vision is to give the poor the tools necessary to lift themselves out of extreme poverty and to build rural communities. Projects are designed so that the people helped must in turn help someone else whose needs are greater than their own. Recipients are also encouraged to tithe to their local churches.
Keith also serves as Indonesia Mission Director for Global Partners.
